Chinmaya Vanprasth Ashram

Our Amenities

Shree Ram Temple

Shree Ram Temple

Nestled within the serene precincts of Chinmaya Sewa Ashram, Rewa, stands the magnificent temple of Shri Raghunath Ji and Jaganmata Sita Ji. More than just a structure of stone and mortar, this temple is a living "Teerth" (pilgrimage spot), vibrating with the spiritual intensity of its consecration by the realized master, Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda. For the devotee in Rewa, standing before Shri Raghunath Ji and Sita Ji is not merely a ritual; it is an act of tuning one's own limited mind to the infinite frequency of the Divine. The silence of the Ashram and the grace of the temple provide the perfect holistic environment for the mind to settle, the intellect to clarify, and the heart to expand.

"To love Rama is to live as Rama lived."
— Swami Chinmayananda

The Kutiyas (Outside View)

Encircling the divine sanctum are spacious, light-filled residential rooms designed to support your Sadhana. Living here feels like resting in the embrace of the Lord, with the temple always in view.

The Kutiyas (Inside View)

To ensure the seeker's focus remains undisturbed by physical discomfort, the rooms blend ashram simplicity with modern necessity. Each unit features attached bathrooms with contemporary fittings and round-the-clock hot water, making the daily ritual of purification effortless. It is a perfect setting where outer comfort creates the space for inner silence.

Clinic Image

Clinic

The Mission views the body as the primary vehicle for sadhana. To this end, an on-call doctor ensures the well-being of the residents, treating health not as an end in itself, but as a crucial prerequisite for inner discipline. This commitment to physical Arogya ensures the mind remains undisturbed and focused on the Divine. Extending this holistic compassion outwards, the trust conducts a dedicated Eye Health Camp on the 3rd of every month for nearby villagers. This act of seva is paramount: by helping restore physical vision, the Ashram facilitates the ability to see the world with clarity—a vital step toward spiritual vision. This service embodies the principle of seeing the Divine in every being (Narayana Seva).

Dining Hall Image

Dining Hall

The central dining hall is a space of communal harmony (Ekatmata), designed to cater holistically to the spiritual family. Here, the essential act of nourishment is transformed into a sacred ritual. Only Satwik food is served—preparation that consciously cultivates the quality of Sattwa (purity, calmness, and clarity) necessary for deep meditation and sadhana. Crucially, every meal is distributed and received as Prasad (a consecrated offering or grace from the Divine). This simple practice elevates eating from mere physical consumption to a daily spiritual offering (Yajna), ensuring the body and mind are holistically sustained for the higher pursuit of Truth.

Library Image

Library

The Ashram Library stands as the Temple of Knowledge (Jnana Mandir), a repository essential for the seeker's intellectual sadhana (spiritual practice). With a collection exceeding 2000 books on Indian scriptures and various topics, the library provides the foundation for holistic growth in both spiritual and practical life. The true spiritual wealth, however, lies in the excellent collection of video discourses by Pujya Gurudev and Pujya Guruji. These recordings offer perpetual Satsanga (communion with Truth), providing the grace and living wisdom of the Masters whenever the seeker sits for study. This facility turns study (Shravana) into profound contemplation (Manana), making the library the vibrant center of the Ashram's intellectual pursuit.

Post Office Image

Post Office

The presence of a Post Office within the Ashram campus is a beautiful, holistic expression of its purpose: integration and transmission. Functioning as a vital civic amenity for both the residents and the surrounding villagers, it acts as a physical bridge. For residents, it enables the maintenance of family Dharma (duty and connection) while pursuing inner Sadhana. For the community, it provides essential services, embodying Loka Seva (service to the world).

Open Gym Image

Prashant Vyayamshala (Open Gym)

The Prashant Vyayamshala is an open-air wellness space set amidst nature, offering thoughtfully selected equipment that exercises every major muscle group for balanced strength, stability, and flexibility. Dedicated to the holistic well-being of our entire community, it supports our Pitamahs with mobility and vitality, empowers Residents and Sadhaks with the stamina needed for daily duties and Sewa, and promotes collective health and unity among our Villagers.

Who Are We

Chinmaya Mission Rewa: An Oasis of Transformation

We are Chinmaya Mission Rewa, operating under the spiritual foundation of Chinmaya Sewa Trust (CST) Rewa—a historical cornerstone and the very first Trust established in the global family of Chinmaya Mission. We stand as a dedicated, vibrant extension of the International Chinmaya Mission, guided by the benevolent vision and administrative grace of the Central Chinmaya Mission Trust (CCMT).

Our mission is not merely to organize, but to transcend: to be a living channel through which the timeless, liberating wisdom of Vedanta flows, uplifting the spirit of every individual through comprehensive spiritual, educational, and cultural enrichment.

Nurturing the Whole Being, Across All Ages

Under the profound spiritual leadership of Chinmaya Mission, CST Rewa acts as a crucible for inner growth. We offer a sanctuary for self-discovery through:

This dedicated effort ensures the local community is aligned with the Mission's supreme purpose: to manifest the state of "maximum happiness for the maximum number for the maximum time"—a joy rooted in Self-knowledge and selfless service. Supported by a tapestry of over 350 sister centers worldwide, we serve as a potent spiritual anchor—a bridge between sacred tradition and personal transformation.

A Haven for Inner Peace: The Ashram Facilities

Our commitment to holistic upliftment culminates in unique physical spaces designed for spiritual flourishing, especially in the later stages of life:

This beautiful facility, also known as Chinmaya Ashram, provides modern comfort and serene living, yet its highest offering is the continuous immersion in the Knowledge of the Ultimate Kind. It is a place where elders can transform their view of life, receive nutritive care and nursing, and dedicate their time to spiritual pursuits in a supportive community.

Alongside Pitamaha Sadan, our expanding activities through Chinmaya Uparati, Chinmaya Shree, and Chinmaya Chhaya demonstrate our constant, comprehensive effort to regenerate the moral fiber and spiritual consciousness of the society in and around Rewa.

We offer a profound path of Knowledge (Jnana) and Service (Sewa),
inviting every seeker to awaken to their inherent divinity.
